It was an honour for us to have our recent architecturally designed custom home at Redhead featured in Newcastle Herald’s Homes of the Hunter.
Enviably located on the bluff at Redhead, ATLANTA reaches outwards to the ocean beyond. Referencing its relaxed coastal location, the overall volume, the resulting detailing and restriction in a muted colour palette are in direct connection. Boldly built to follow the flow of the sloping site, the generously proportioned home sees a series of levels come together, offering an immersive residential experience that is the epitome of contemporary coastal bliss.
At the heart of the design is a connection to its owners- a vision that they had been working on together for 12 years. Home to a couple and their young children, their brief was to create a warm, feminine sanctuary that not only reflected their coastal lifestyle but also acted as a place to bring people together in a casual and inviting setting that would evoke good feelings for everyone that visited. The resulting approach to materiality and planning acts as an extension of this and the softness of the home is felt in every varying space.
In order to fulfill our client’s vision, our team was able to design and build a home alongside leading architect Doring Design, that consisted of 3 levels featuring a luxury entertainers’ kitchen with integrated butler’s pantry, a 10 metre heated lap pool and spa, private parents retreat on the upper level and more all controlled by voice recognition in a smart-home environment.
We were very aware when we were building ATLANTA that our clients had been planning this home since 2017. It was something that they poured their heart and soul into planning, refining and working on for years before we had even met them. Because of this we felt very privileged to deliver their vision and be the last piece of the puzzle and thank our amazing team, suppliers and clients who joined us for the journey.
Since construction this home has also been nominated as a FINALIST IN THE HIA AWARDS in the Custom Homes category.
